Ah, what a joy it is, to see an inexperienced amateur at the game of online identity substitution roundly defeated by a past master of the game, without having ever realised that he was being played.

There are, and long have been, two entirely different schools of online tricksterhood. The long-game subtle variety, played with care and attention to detail, with due consideration given to the convincing development of backstory and internal continuity is one, often played by those who long ago graduated from the other, altogether less admirable school.

The other school is generally accompanied by a naive, arrogant and entirely misguided assumption of the player's own ability and skill, and to the seasoned eye of a practitioner of the more accomplished form of the game is, to put it mildly, as transparent as good old glass. When their childishly obvious activities are discussed publicly by those who have seen through their pathetic charade, it is not unusual for these failures to descend into wildly improbably paranoid fantasies and aggressive bluster to try to explain their failure, rather than to face up to their own hopeless incompetence at the game.

Today, I'm completely overjoyed. Singlehandedly, by ingeniously spamming the image search results for a text-based forum, in order to annoy a few dozen set-reporters for cheap giggles, I have managed to destroy a community of 40,000 people.

Friendships, destroyed.

Communities, destroyed.

The home of an entire worldwide fandom, destroyed.

And y'know, I did at all by my own bladdy genius. 'cos that's the sort of fella I am, don'tcha know?

On dishonesty and self-aggrandisement

... just choose yourself a handle for yourself that can't be traced to you direct, that way you can't be targeted for reprisals, abusive PM's, emails etc, and sign up as a follower.

Y'don't have to start an actual blog as others have unless you've got something yourself you want to say outright, you can use a variety of open id options to just simply follow - just sort yourself out a brief profile with a link to anything that grabs you as reprehensible and you, simply linking to the images, means they get crawled and cached - search engines take care of the rest.

One does have to ask exactly how entirely credulous a person is expect to be to believe for even one instant that a senior BBC spokesperson, conservatively ranked 14th most significant player in the entire corporation, is ever going to commit in writing sentiments such as intimated in the above regarding both a private individual and licence fee payer and place anything of the sort in the hands of someone disposed towards blurting it out all over the internet in RTD's name.

It doesn't happen. Anyone having had even the most peripheral dealings with the production office would know that.

Neither Eddie nor Mr Dark are anything more significant than any other fan of the show - that is exactly what they are, fans. That's it.

Neither one of them has a hot-line to Upperboat.

As I believe I may have mentioned in a previous post - there are reasons why RTD has nothing positive to say about Mr Dark's Bad Publicly.
